Two new local guidance documents are now available to download.

We know that it is very easy for people who are suffering abuse to keep it to themselves even when asked directly. Domestic Abuse – Asking the Question guidance is intended to help practitioners think about how to ask about domestic abuse in such a way as to encourage disclosure.

Asking about Domestic Abuse is even harder when you are working with someone whose first language is not English – Sheffield Guidance for Use of Interpreters in situations of Domestic and Sexual Abuse is intended to help practitioners prepare for using an interpreter with someone who is experiencing domestic abuse and was formulated with the help of local domestic abuse specialists and is based on a similar document from Leeds.
