Sheffield Domestic Abuse Partnership Links

VIDA – Formerly the Sheffield Domestic Abuse Forum, VIDA is a charitable company working to combat domestic abuse. Membership of the Forum is free, and open to any agency or individual whose work ~ paid or unpaid ~ brings them into contact with domestic abuse.


South Yorkshire Police – The thirteenth largest of the 44 police forces within England, Wales and Northern Ireland, policing Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.


Sheffield Homes – Provides housing management services to around 43000 households in Sheffield.


Sheffield City Council – The Sheffield City Council website provides online information and services for Sheffield.


Sheffield Youth Offending Service – The Youth Justice System in England and Wales comprises the youth courts, the institutions in which young people are held in custody, and the range of professionals (the police, the probation service, social workers, education and health workers) who work with young people that offend or who are at risk of offending. The Youth Justice System is part of the broader Criminal Justice System


Sheffield Safer & Sustainable Communities Partnership – Responsible for reducing crime, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse and concerns about those issues in Sheffield


NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group – Reducing health inequalities that exist in Sheffield and in doing so make it the healthiest city in England.


Sheffield Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre – A specialist service offering free and confidential counselling and support for women and men 16+ who have experienced rape or sexual abuse at any times in their lives.


SWWOP: Sheffield Working Women’s Opportunities Project – Provides a mobile outreach service, four evenings per week to any female street sex worker, working in Sheffield. During outreach, women can access condoms, clean needles, rape alarms, sandwiches and soup. SWWOP also provide advocacy information/advice, signposting and support to access and attend appointments.

National Domestic Abuse Services

Womens Aid – The key national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children. We support a network of over 500 domestic and sexual violence services across the UK.


Victim Support – Give free and confidential help to victims of crime, their family, friends and anyone else affected. Give information, emotional support and practical help. You don’t have to report a crime to the police to get their help and can get support at any time, whenever the crime happened. They are not a government agency or part of the police.


Refuge – Their network of safe houses provides emergency accommodation for women and children when they are most in need.


Co-ordinated Action Against Domestic Abuse –  A national charity supporting a strong multi-agency response to domestic abuse. Our work focuses on saving lives and saving public money.


Respect – The UK membership association for domestic violence perpetrator programmes and associated support services. Our vision is to end violence and abuse in intimate partner and close family relationships.


The National LGBT Domestic Abuse Helpline – provided by GALOP offers support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people experiencing domestic abuse.

Sheffield Women’s Counselling and Therapy Service – A women-only organisation which provides a free confidential therapy/counselling service for women in Sheffield.

Young Womens’ Housing Project – A project providing safe places to live for young women between 16-25 who have been affected by sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or sexual/domestic violence.

AskSID – Ask Sid about dance and music classes, swimming, sports clubs and holiday activities, education and training, childcare and family support, who to talk to about bullying, special needs support, staying healthy and much more!


Sheffield Centre for HIV & Sexual Health – A Sheffield based service that operates nationally as well as in the local community. Our holistic model of working acknowledges the political, social and cultural factors and health inequalities which affect and determine peoples sexual health, as well as issues relating to individual experience, emotions, sexuality, sensuality and spirituality.


Rights of Women – Works to attain justice and equality by informing, educating and empowering women on their legal rights.


Voluntary Action Sheffield – A charity that supports the development of a vibrant, effective and influential voluntary and community sector locally. VAS provides a wide range of services, including specialist support, advice and training to over 900 voluntary and community organisations in Sheffield each year and we promote and support volunteering in the city.
