HMIC launches survey for victims of domestic abuse
An online survey for people who have experienced domestic abuse in the last 12 months has been launched by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC). The aim is to find out what victims think of the way the police responded. The survey is part of a review, requested by the Home Secretary, into how police forces respond to domestic abuse.
HMIC is responsible for assessing police forces and policing in England and Wales. It is independent of the government and the police, and its aim is to promote and advance improvements in the service that police forces offer to the public.
The survey consists of approximately 15 questions and should take between 5-10 minutes to complete. All answers will be confidential and anonymous. At the end of the survey there is information to help participants delete their computer’s browser history. The deadline for responses is 26 January 2014.
